This paper uses self-identity theory in Marxism to do the systematic study of theself-identity crisis of the contemporary university students. This paper combines thestandard study with concrete evidence study. Bases on the arranging, analyzing andusing the theory of contemporary western self-identity and the situation of universitystudents' self-identity in Guangdong province, this paper discusses the phenomenon,reason and the method of the self-identity crisis of contemporary students.Firstly, through investigating the western representative theory of self-identityand self-identity crisis in Marxism, this paper holds that self-identity is the affirmationof one's identity, while the crisis of self-identity is the doubt and anxiety of theuncertainty of self-identity which affects people's normal social life, and also analysesthe reasons of the crisis of self-identity in detail and emphasizes the crisis ofself-identity as the result of modem society and modernity. Secondly, bases on thetheory of self-identity, this paper designs some questions to investigate the situation ofthe university students' self-identity in Guangdong province. Through the analysis ofthe result of the survey, this paper believes that the contemporary university students'crisis of self-identity includes self-negation, standing off others and the indifference tosociety. These exercise a great influence to their health and normal life. Thirdly,around the contemporary university students' crisis of self-identity, this paper attachesimportance to both the outside factors of environment and the inside factors of thesubject to discusses the reasons of the contemporary university students' crisis ofself-identity and analyses the sharp transformation of our society, the deviationbetween education idea and practice, the university students' cognition, emotion,determination and so on. Lastly, in accordance with the reasons of the contemporaryuniversity students' crisis of self-identity, this paper illustrates in detail the preventionmechanism and emergency measures of the contemporary university students' crisisof self-identity, and makes some suggestions on building the harmonious nationalculture, pushing on the subjectivity education and establishing the view of becoming-ego, establishing and improving the mechanism of mentality intervention inuniversities and making the students be able to realize and face their psychologicalproblems in right way. With these, the increasingly serious crisis of self-identity ofuniversity students can be effectively resolved.
