Any individual will go through the process of transition from a natural entity to a social entity. The process is known as enlightenment or socialization. When socialization is regarded as sustained cultural development or passage, or by nature as the internalization of social culture, we have touched upon an important preposition of sociology. It is in this sense that culture has become the medium through which college students internalize social culture. Therefore, college students' sociality much depends on their internalization of social culture.In colleges and universities, ideological and moral education is a cultural activity, an activity to pass on a social culture. The aim of college ideological and moral education is to standardize individual tendency in the socialization process in terms of a specific cultural and value system. However, with the advent of market economy, popular culture, derived from market economy and consumption economy, begins to work as a subculture in cooperation with the main stream culture in colleges and universities, contributing jointly to the sociality development of college students.Popular culture is the product of mixing pop culture, medium culture, expense culture and commercial culture. And it has penetrated every aspect of life and become an important contributor for the current social development. Living in the environment of popular culture, young students are changing unconsciously, adapting themselves consciously or unconsciously to a different value concept and way of life. However,popular culture contributes both positively and negatively to social development, and in particular to young students' socialization. In this aspect, it has merits and demerits. On one hand, it serves as an important medium in young students' socialization. On the other hand, the bad elements in common culture, if not sufficient controlled and effectively guided, it might be misleading young students in their life orientation.Students' socialization is accomplished by means of the combination of the two cultures. The present paper focuses on how to utilize the rich resources of popular culture, specifically, how to utilize the positive aspects of popular culture and how to eliminate the negative aspects of popular culture, so that young students can be successfully socialized and become part of the society. The research orientation the present paper presents is to begin with culture sociality socialization and go into the contribution popular culture and college ideological and moral education make jointly to the internalization in students' socialization.
