The ethnography method is used in this thesis by describing the reform process of an ordinary primary school in the background of Chinese Curriculum Reform. The story begins with the helplessness situation that the school faced and the tension between faculties. And finally, the school sets up to be an excellent school which featured by the art characteristic. The description places the importance on the complicated situation of how individuals face the reform process. As a development system, there are power interactions inside. In the reform practice, no matter the school administrator or the teachers, they all have to deal with the realistic problems and the pressure. Thus, under the deficiency of education resources and unfavorable situation, how to focus these reform powers is especially important. In order to see the focus process, the description is revolved about the "big events". From the challenge that the administrator faces at the beginning of reform, and then resistance and obstacles from various aspects as well, to the struggle between participants during the reform. And different kinds of negotiations in protection, resistance and challenge. In every of this story, there are circumstances in every person, which including their dialogue, action and reflection. During the description of these events, the angle gradually draws from obvious outside reformation platform like school structure and individual responsibility to implicative reform event (Like school research and the fight between teachers' rights). Thus helps to understand how these individuals explain and respond to curriculum reform by their own words.Like most of the Ethnography research, the purpose of this thesis is not to judge the events, but to watch what happens between schools and participants in a very close range. By using the flexibility of the field research, I gain the deeper meaning and understanding of school reform and people's feeling and actions. The content of the writing is immersed in the world of reform participants. In my description, I use the items, beliefs and explanation from these participants. Thus to explicit and explain their life experience and the complications oftheir life. Finally, get more understanding in school reform.
