Survey And Analysis Of Parental Involvement, Early Childhood Reading In Guangzhou

With the development of our society and humanity's progresses, early reading isattracting more and more people's attention. Based on the interpretation of thereading, early reading and parental involvement in children's early reading andinvestigation findings, this thesis intends to conduct a comprehensive and systematicsurvey study on this subject and an analysis as to the existing conditions of parentalinvolvement in children's early reading of Guangzhou City.The main methods using in this thesis include questionnaire survey,draftsanalytic and interview. According to the analysis of all kinds of documents before, Ipaid much attention to parental involvement in children's reading and investigated alot about it, and then designed the first draft, afterwards, I have revised it for threetimes and sent it to kindergartens. Finally, there forms two questionnaires. I sent thistwo questionnaires to all kinds of kindergartens and made a conclusion about parentalinvolvement in children's reading in Guangzhou city.It is found that, parents with different education levels, marital statuses, andprofessional categories demonstrate very significant differences in terms of parent'sinvolvement. Education levels, professional category are found to be two significantdeterminants of parental involvement. However, the gender of children and the age ofparent are not found to be significant determinants for parental involvement. Familyincome does not play a very important role in parental involvement as well.Kindergarten nature, being a single child or not, and belonging to which age classalso affects a lot in some aspects.In addition, involvement purpose, involvement content, involvement ways andinvolvement strategies are found to be four significant factors in parental involvementat the same time. Involvement purpose plays a very important part in parentalinvolvement. It is general thought that raising children's interest and abilities are very important. The involvement ways need improving. This study mainly do someinvolvement researches from the sense of touch,the sense of hearing,the sense ofsight and spoken language. The significant difference between father's involvementand mother's involvement reveals that in today's society the overall level of father'sinvolvement is low, especially in children's daily care. If fathers can change theirideas and participate actively in their children's early reading, the effect is moreobvious and it will be more good for their children's growth. Carrying out the fatherduty education or implementing the father duty education plan is a direct and effectivestrategy for improving the level of father involvement.
