A Study Of Parent Involvement In Extracurricular Reading Of GuangZhou Primary School Students

Reading plays an important value in children's understanding of the world,learning knowledge,improving their quality and developing their personality and even plays an important role in shaping children's character,outlook on life and world outlook.Family involvement in primary school is one of the important ways to promote children's reading literacy.The existing research shows that there are many problems in the process of parents' participation in children's extracurricular reading.The problems include the lack of attention of parents,lack of guidance,lack of family reading resources,improper selection of books,poor school communication,etc.Researchers have put forward corresponding countermeasures on such problems.In order to further grasp the real situation of our country city parents to par ticipate in children's reading practice,this paper uses questionnaire survey and interviews to investigate the Primary school attached to Guangzhou University.The survey included parents 'attitudes,depths,methods,parental reading habits,family envir onment creation and parents' perplexity in children's extracurricular reading.The survey found that there are two main problems in parental paticipation process,which are parents themselves and family-school communication.For countermeasures,this paper puts forward parents need to be aware of the importance of participating in children's extracurricular reading.Parents need to develop reading habits,build good family reading environment,choose the appropriate books for the children,make reading plans,strengthen extracurricular reading guidance and make evaluation of extracurricular reading feedback.In addition,to strengthen the family-school cooperation,We Chat group can be established to achieve the interaction between teachers and parents.It also establishs the multiple contact mechanism between parents and parents.School could organize parents to carry out various forms of education to improve participation of parents in extracurricular reading.This study can be used for guidancing in primary school extracurricular reading,enhancing the effectiveness of parental participation and improving the participation of parents.
