We are stepping into an age of dialogue, at which dialogue gradually becomes the main living form and also a fashion pursed by the modern people. Dialogue teaching is the echo of the time spirit of dialogue in the field of education. As a new teaching method, it is a challenge as well as an innovation to the traditional teaching. The teaching of Chinese reading is always conducted in a"monologue"in the traditional way. Therefore, imparting knowledge is emphasized by ignoring traditional construct; training of basic knowledge and skills, ignoring developing students'traits, emotion and creativity; achieving excellent learning result and high scores, ignoring the progress wisdom and merits in students; learning. This teaching style shall hinder realization of the subject position of students, mobilization of their learning activity, and active and energetic healthy development of students. Regarding teaching Chinese reading as the dialogue to implement is one of the new concepts advocated by New Curriculum Criteria, against which the dialogueal teaching of reading came into being.This paper begins with the dialogue. It holds that dialogue in reading teaching is not simply interaction but equal communication, not simple speaking but multidirectional interaction, or not mechanic acceptance but thorough understanding. The dialogue is a communication which takes the language as the two parties'media, takes communication, understanding and meaning as the practical aims and aims to improve mutual understanding. It is the interaction between souls, collision of thoughts, equal communication and spiritual understanding. Thus the dialogueal teaching should be a human-oriented democratic and equalitarian teaching, which is characterized by communication, cooperation, acceptance and creation.The dialogue teaching of reading contains two levels of meaning. Firstly, reading is the communication between the reader and the text; secondly, the reader will communicate with other readers. Its core is to respect the initiative and communication of the students in their reading, i.e., to respect humanity and plurality. It is based on advanced theory, which directly comes from Bakhtin's dialogue theory, western acceptance aesthetics and construction learning. four dialogue relationships exist between the students and the text: the dialogue between the student and the text, between the teacher and the text, between the teacher and the student and between one student and the others, Among them, the emphasis is on the dialogue between the student and the text; the premise of the dialogue between the teacher and the student is that between the teacher and the text. The dialogue between the teacher and the student is the spiritual communication between the teacher and the student. The dialogue among the students themselves, based on the previous three types, is the mutual consultation, mutual learning and mutual benefit process among them.The dialogue teaching of reading can be conducted before, amid of after class, During the teaching, some mistakes may be made: the simplification of dialogue teaching, the empty dialogue without the text, show dialogue and"obvious dialogue"instead of"covert dialogue", Several suggestions are put forward to avoid them: clear designing of topics, creating atmosphere, recollecting and criticizing and the teachers'lead.
