Since Ye Lan's Book of Making the Classroom More Animate was published in 1997, the individuals' lives of secondary school students have been a great matter of concern in school education. Challenges and opportunities coexist in today's education: on one hand, due to the negative effects brought by feudal traditions and cultures together with the prevalence of utilitarianism and instrumentalism in education, many phenomena adverse to student's lives arise, which include suicides, murders, purposive hurt, injuries caused by traffic accidents, and so on. All these cause students to have almost lost their life consciousness; on the other hand, in order to develop the market economy and deal with the challenges from globalization, we are in urgent need of arousing the students' consciousness of individual life and bringing in to full play every individual life's initiative. Under this circumstance, the students' loss of life consciousness is in obvious contrast to their importance in the development of both themselves and the whole society. Therefore, it is undoubtedly essential and important that theoretical research and practical probe be done on the education of life consciousness from the perspective of making full use of the students' individual initiative in class.Since the study of life education in China was rather behind other countries, many secondary and primary schools just copy the models from western countries or Taiwan region to give life education to students. The system of life education adaptable to our practical situation has not been set up yet, The research on life education has just started in China , Presently, some problems still exist in this research. For example, issues concerning life consciousness such as its goals, definitions, methods, specific ways and affecting factors still need a thorough probe both theoretically and practically. Many problems could appear in practice. For instance, how to combine the theoretical education with practice of life consciousness? Which is the most effective way of developing life consciousness? Many scholars have done research and analysis on the current situation of life consciousness and offered many solutions accordingly. However, there is yet no experimental research, especially in biology class.Relying on the biology class, this paper takes an initial motive to set up a theoretical framework for the development of the life consciousness of secondary students biology class: respectively giving detailed accounts to the definitions, contents, shaping process, features and goals of life consciousness. It also proposes the teaching strategy of experience learning from the perspective of the students' psychology and initiative in class and its concrete operation procedures as well, providing some references for the theoretical construction and practical probe of developing life consciousness. Finally, the teaching strategy has been tested by scientific research methods through half a year's teaching practice. Research methods include Independent Sample T Test , Experiment results indicate: in biology class, the teaching strategy of experience learning is very effective in raising the level of life consciousness of the students as a whole. Compared with the teaching strategy of Lecturing-penetration , the teaching strategy of experience learning can effectively eliminate the differences in life consciousness among the students caused by gender differences.
