This thesis is on the practical application of Participative Teaching to Music Appreciation in Senior High School. Based on the thorough research on the practical teaching process, the feasibility and effectiveness of applying the Participative Teaching method to Music Appreciation in senior high school was explored and analyzed. This work can serve as reference for the teaching of Music Appreciation in senior high school.This research has the following four purposes:First, explore the evidence of the application of Participative Teaching to current teaching system. Second, research how to properly apply Participative Teaching method into Music Appreciation class in senior high school. Third, study the feasibility and effectiveness of teaching Music Appreciation subject in senior high school by means of Participative Teaching. Last but not least, based on all the above, devise a tailor-made scheme for Participative Teaching of Music Appreciation in senior high school, which can serve as reference for teachers who want to study and improve their teaching.The below three major conclusions were achieved in this thesis based on theory research, case practice, questionnaire survey, and so on:1. Applying Participative Teaching methodology into Music Appreciation classes insenior high school is feasible because it can promote the cooperation and interaction in the class, break through the limits of time, space and surroundings of traditional "Appreciation by Passive Listening", and improve the efficiency of learning.2. Application of Participative Teaching is also effective in that it can increase thestudents' interest in Music Appreciation, change their learning attitude positively, enhance their recognition of teaching, and elevate their appreciation capacity in aesthetics.3. To fully fulfill participative teaching in music appreciation, the teacher needs to have a correct understanding of participative teaching, a good command of the essence of methods of participative teaching and also a favorable ability to plan and devise his teaching activities.
