In this article the writer wants to carry on the research in teaching practice through observation and thinking.Discovered in the teaching, many students pay attention to mathematics calculation while resolving the physics problem, but be lack of the consciousness of thinking and can't draw to think, this situation has become the student' s obstacle to consider the physics problem. This problem results that teachers pay no attention to the development of the student's ability of drawing, or don't know how to do it.From epistemological, the information theory and the theories of the psychologies, writer inquiries into the theories foundation of drawing and thinking. It indicates that draw to think is a process—students participate the fulfillment by drawing, because the process of drawing is just to show the physical characteristic of diagrams of an objective thing in brains, and to resolve the problem to replace the practice by observing and construct ring . Still draw to think is a process that concerns vision, and it is tool of vision thinking . Thinking through drawing is not a low-class or inferior think. Drawing itself functions as comprehension and understanding . It embodies the feature of vision thinking, that is image thinking can' t stay apart from abstract thinking. Also, draw to think is a process of information processing and conversion. In the information conversion process , such as language writing, idea, mathematics , the diagram function as the record sign of the idea, making idea more clear ,more concrete, the information capacity that jot down larger , thus promoting information process .Then combine the physics course and the physics thinking character and clarify the necessity that students should set up the ability to draw to think. Then writer sets up three ability structures of drawing and thinking, that is , the ability to construct a diagram into pictures , the ability to convert information to picture , and the ability to apply the law to pictures .Meanwhile, writer puts up with the basic principles and methods to develop students ability to draw to think in teaching .at last , do some research in the picture "Reading ,drawing , resolving" and "observing, imagining, construct ring" and draw some conclusions.
