Based on the theories and practice of the English language teaching and by analyzing the theories of EF for composing textbook materials, the essay tends to discuss the characteristics of EF teaching materials in the themes of the content, strategies and styles of language learning, forms of material presentation. And by comparing the similarities and differences of theme-based teaching approach of EF teaching material and New Century Senior English Textbook, the essay further probes into the existing problems of present senior English teaching materials on the input and output of the language, themes of the material, and the adjustability of the material and at last the essay presents the possible countermeasures. |
