| Cultivating top students of high school is the important work which is the research task for each high school teacher. Field dependence-independence is of great importance to individual's mental development. So it has great instructing significance to analyze the cognitive styles of top students and adopt relevant educational strategies.The present study use "Cognitive Style Figures Test" as a research tool to explore the characteristics of top students' field cognitive styles based on the field dependence-independence theory and previous researches, After 285 top students and 253 average students of the High School attached to Tsinghua University were tested, results are as follows:First, the field independence of top students increases with the growing of grade and turn to be of stabilization after grade two of senior high school. The field cognitive style changes intensely in the two phases.Second, there is no gender difference in top students' field dependence-indep -endence. Female students' field independence is higher than male students' in junior high school and the result is reverse to senior top students.Third, top students' field dependence-independence is positive correlated with their learning performance.Last, top students' field independence is remarkable higher than average students' of same grade.We also probed into the reason of forming the characteristics of top students' field dependence-independence and put forward the relevant educational strategies.The study firstly analyze the characteristics of top students' field cognitive styles in China, so it has important consulting value to cultivate top students and it also has generalizing significance. |
