1.IntroductionWith the knowledge economy as a symbol of informationization, the process ofglobalization deepening and the humanistic outlook on the PE curriculum being, in suchcircumstances, the new "Guiding and outline of PE curriculum teaching of nationalinstitution of high education" goes into action and encountered some difficulties andchallenges. The study is of the institution of high education PE curriculum development,reform between U.S.A and China in the past 50 years. We can study, emulate, andassimilate the world of institutions of high education curriculum, especially the UnitedStates PE curriculum experience ;through comparing and analysing the cross-culturalbackground of China-U.S.A. institution of high education PE curriculum theory andpractice, we can explore the theroy of establishing PE curriculum of institution of higheducation.2.MethodologyThe methodology of document, questionnaire, and logical analysis are used in thisdisertation.3.ConclusionThrough the review and analysis of PE curriculum between USA and China from1950s, as well as the existing PE curriculum objectives, contents, implementation andevaluations, we can found there are many differences between USA and China .The fivemajor reasons affect the differences, such as educational ideals, economic and scientificdevelopment, social and historical traditions and culture and the impact of personalindependence. The sense of competition and motivation .Finally we can acquire theinspiration about how to set up PE curriculum:(1).The goals of PE curriculum should not only promote student health, strengthensports cultural accomplishment, but also pay more attention to the individualdevelopment of students and their lifetime sports..(2).The contents of PE curriculum should be closer to the life, including a all-orientitionphysical education, such as constitution education,health education,entertainmenteducation and atheletic education.(3).we should set up a modern outlook on PE curriculum, sound activity curriculum, develop the latent curriculum, and cope with the relationship of curriculum typescorrectly. In order to stimulate students' interest and motivation of participating in sports,and achieve curriculum goals.(4).The evaluation of PE curriculum in institution of high education should strive tomake the evaluation of integrated content, transform modes of scientific and feedbackfunction to stimulate to improve efficiency of PE curriculum, serve the developmem ofstudents future.(5).Based on the philosophical idea of "harmony in diversity", we should constitutecharacteristic college PE curriculum of China..
