Since the end of 20 century, strengthening technology education has become an important part of basic education curriculum reform for all countries in the world. During the 8th curriculum reform of basic education in China, technology was designed as one of the learning fields and the standards of technology curriculum was constituted for the first time, that is to say, Technology Curriculum Standards for General High School (experimental), aiming at improving students' technological literacy and promoting their all-round and individualized development. This dissertation mainly compares Technology Curriculum Standards for General High School (experimental) in China and Standards for Technological Literacy: Content for the Study of Technology in America, which is useful for the curriculum operators and researchers to further understand Technology Curriculum Standards for General High School (experimental), to better bring it into effect and to offer the consulting suggestions for revising the experimental text.The content is made up of the preface and three main parts. The preface mainly introduces the technology curriculum standards of China and America and then states the cause of choosing this topic. In the first part, I compare the developing processes of technology curriculum standards and current implement situation, and also analyze their background, foundation and processes of developing and implementing the standards. In the second part, I compare the texts of Technology Curriculum Standards for General High School (experimental) and Standards for Technological Literacy: Content for the Study of Technology to analyze their structures, curriculum goals, content standards, cases and language styles as well. In the third part, I make some suggestion on revising Technology Curriculum Standards for General High School (experimental) in China, such as setting up the revising mechanism of the standards, remodeling the editing structure, adjusting the content standards, cases, language styles.
