Long after the founding of the People's Republic of China, our language teachingin elementary stage overemphasizes knowledge teaching, gradually causing it toplunge into a settled form for language itself. As a result, the only thing that studentsgot was nothing but skills and techniques. With the increasingly fierce collegeentrance examination competition in the 1990's, the exam-oriented educating systemput Chinese-teaching into a stemma unrelated to reality. While learning Chinese,students are confined to classes, textbooks and examinations, which led to a result thatstudents had low ability and they accumulated few and shallow languageaccomplishments. On the basis of the present Chinese-teaching and with the help ofthe consideration of the ancient way of Chinese-teaching by stressing the facts, thispaper talks about the meanings of Chinese-learning based on accumulation. At thesame time, after the systemic and detailed explanation of the Chinese-languagelearning guided by the spirit of new curriculum in the stage of the elementaryeducation, this paper goes further to put forward a new conception of accumulationlearning in new curriculum. Particularly, this paper also points out the unilateralknowledge of language accumulation----language accumulation is nothing but simpleaccumulation in language materials. Furthermore, this paper corrects some inaccurateviewpoints of the accumulation of language, culture and life.In fact, to emphasize and strengthen Chinese-learning by accumulation inelementary stage is to inherit and develop the excellent way of learning our motherlanguage. Beating out this question means the settlement of the restriction in Chineseteaching and the mastery of the fundamental aim of Chinese teaching. Thedevelopment of students' ability in accumulating learning will correspondently raisetheir accomplishments in Chinese language and enable them to get strong languageapplication ability, certain esthetic ability and inquiring ability. Thus, the goodthought morals quality and the scientific cultural quality, which can lay a solidfoundation for their life-long learning and their self-development with their owncharacteristics is around the corner. So, from the point view of human memorymechanism, Bruner's cognition structural theory and Gagne's accumulation studytheory , this paper also provide theoretical evidences for the feasibility andinevitability of accumulation study.After the comprehensive elaboration to the accumulation of Chinese-languagestudy in the elementary education stage, this paper put much stress on the innovationaccumulation in the end. This paper emphasizes that the process of Chineseaccumulation study is from the accumulation of materials, the experience and emotionwhich finally should lead to the formation of innovation, which will facilitate newinnovations. This endless process will also lay a solid foundation for students' skillsand accomplishments in Chinese. Practice serves as the only standard of examiningthe truth. Besides the statement and reconsideration of present condition ofChinese-language teaching, having creatively explained the accumulation study ofChinese in new curriculum and stated the theory of this kind of study, the writermainly explored the practical policies of the accumulation study, which refer toinspiring interest, independent and deepening accumulation with development andconsolidation, appreciation by reading and innovation in writing. Among them,sentiment by reading and consolidating accumulation inherited and developed thedistillate of the traditional way of Chinese teaching. With the new comprehension andpractice of the basic means of listening, speaking, reading, writing, the writer of thispaper insisted that the success of the comprehensive accumulation of students'accomplishments, which is the ultimate aim of accumulation study is guaranteed.
