With the arrival of economic era and information-based society, andthe educational revolution around the world brought from this, there aremore and more demands for education as well as increasingly highexpectations for the quality of high education. The reform anddevelopment of high education have been heat spots focused in the wholesociety. Teaching administration in colleges and universities is the jointand core in the teaching system. The team of teaching administration is animportant strength concerning the quality of education and teaching. The thesis aims at improving information literacy of the teachingadministrator in colleges and universities in order to improve administrationeffect, and promoting information modernization in our country. It analyzesthe characteristic of teaching administration in the environment ofinformation modernization. Based on the experience of research onteachers' information literacy in the education reform both here and abroad,the writer pursues his studies about the basic demand of informationliteracy of teaching administrator and how to cultivate it. To discuss thequestion mentioned above, the writer designed a questionnaire and madesurvey about information literacy of teaching administrator among fivecolleges and universities in Shandong Province, in order to analyze theactual state of information literacy of teaching administrator and find theway to cultivate it.The thesis consists of four chapters.The first chapter encloses the effect posed on the teachingadministration in colleges and universities by education informationmodernization, and describes the denotative of education informationmodernization. It also analyses teaching administration presented open,cooperative and virtual characteristic in information modernization era.The second chapter analyses the quality of the teaching administratorin colleges and universities, and then acquire the denotative and feature ofeducation information modernization according to its definition given indifferent time. The paper argues the reality meaning of promotinginformation literacy of teaching administrator in combination with theoccupational traits of the teaching administrator.The third chapter conducts survey and analyzes the current state aboutinformation literacy of teaching administrator in colleges and universities.The writer designed a questionnaire based on the research on thecomposition and basic demand about information literacy of teachingadministrator, and in combination with the state in our country. The writerchose five colleges and universities in Shandong Province to do samplingsurvey.
