"Revitalize School through Science Research" has become a common cognition in China today. The science research on education in primary school will definitely affect the reform and development of a school, as well as that of the whole education. This article discuses the situation of the education science research of primary and secondary schools within Kunming city, such as organization structure and management, personnel, research projects, internal and external factors which impact the science research, and so on. The author tried to find out the teachers' attitude towards education research, their knowledge of science research, the rate of teachers' participation in research, as well as problems, expectations and suggestions. Through investigation and analysis, the author tried to give a way to solve the problems exist in education research of primary and secondary school, in order to service to the development of education, policy making, for instance. The investigation indicates the situation of education science research in primary and secondary schools as follows: Firstly, research awareness has been improved and research atmosphere are being reality. Secondly, the teachers have a further understanding to science research, more research organizations have appeared and management system has been established step by step. Thirdly, a number of research experts have been fostered. Fourthly, the government and education department attached importance to education science research, so some base schools of research experiment have been built.However, there are also some problems exist in education research: there are attitude and behavior difference between the principals and teachers toward the research; Lack of knowledge and training; unbalance between research and teaching; poor management method and unperfected management system; shortage of research fund; low efficiency of research result; lack of support and instruction from outside; unbalanced research development, and so on.This article discusses the results mentioned above and gives some measures to solve these problems exist in education science research of primary and secondary schools.The author also looks back the history of education research of primary and secondary schools. Some new concepts have been advanced in face of the new education development, such as "classroom is research place" , "teachers are researchers", "teaching and research support each other" , etc.
