A complete shift from the "test-oriented education" to the"quality-oriented education" necessitates the reform of education. It is animportant link in the school education system to help students overcomedifficulties in their studies caused by negative non-intelligence factorsand cultivate positive non-intelligence factors. It is an urgent task for theeducator to get a deep understanding of the student-centered educationand of how to better the teaching effects by recourse to the students'non-intelligence qualities. The importance of developing students' goodnon-intelligence factors in the mathematics classroom is self-evident. Thenurturing of non-intelligence factors is laid much emphasis on in the new"mathematics curricular standards for full compulsory education". Thepresent thesis explains the significance of cultivating students'non-intelligence factors from the mathematics-teaching perspective,demonstrates with typical cases encountered in my teaching the effects ofnon-intelligence factors such as motive interest affection perseveranceand character etc in learning middle school mathematics, and seeks aneffective approach to developing students' non-intelligence factors in themathematics classroom.
