Low-performing schools, important reflects of our unbalanced development in basic education, are more and more concerned since 1980s. In terms of 9-year compulsory education, the existence of still lots of low-performing schoolsprovokes people's suspicion—whether compulsory education is really innationwide and equality. This causes severe damage to the basic education development, which consequently generates series of social problems.After clarifying many factors that affect low-performing schools, the author chooses K middle school in A city as research object. First, K middle school's developing factors are analyzed from the aspects of natural environment, social environment and school faculty. Second, the school's developing process which is divided into several stages is orderly analyzed. Third, the author explores the school's main contradictions from the following perspectives: employment system, investment, school culture, public opinion and school history etc. In the end, based on the above research and learning from modern management, the author presents some constructive and pertinent suggestions for the education administrative department and Low-performing schools.
