Chinese nation has grown up with the brilliance of the excellent poetries. They have played very critical role in training students' individual characters. They can train nature, mold temperament, foster good appreciation of the beautiful, perfect moral quality, enlarge knowledge, develop thinking in images and language ability, make sure of self-values.However, it's not enough to think highly poetry teaching in middle schools. By exchanging ideas with the teachers who are teaching Chinese now and making questionires, I've found most of students not like reading modern poetries because of examination need. The poetry mastery of some Chinese teachers is uneven. Teaching methods are out-of-date.In this essay, I've studied the position, function and content in poetry teaching at Chapter one,analyed the present problems at Chapter two and researched into the methods and tactics of appreciation of the beautiful at Chapter three.The aim of this essay causes the middle school teachers to pay more attention to the poetry teaching, change the old-fashioned melhods,and bring up to the poetry teaching situation.
