The number of crimes by in-university students is increasing although its rate still remains low. The crimes by university students are contrastively different from crimes by other people, and such crimes have produced rather vast influence on the society because the social statuses of the subjects of such crimes are quite unique. Therefore, how to deal with youthful university students' crimes has posed a new problem to institutes of higher education. How to contain in-university students' crimes and promote their healthy development has also become an important and pressing task before us. This thesis, taking as its basis the nurture of advanced personages and reduction of university students' crimes, analyzes the present phase of research in university students' crimes and their prevention as well as the significance of such research. Based upon investigation and research, this thesis has summed up the features of crimes by university students as diversity in types, high intelligence, regularity in time of crimes, and misconducts in gangs, and especially characteristics of crimes by female university students as seriousness, unexpectedness, and cruelty. This thesis has also made rather profound analysis of the causes for such crimes from such objective perspectives as social politics, social economy, social trend and interpersonal relations, and from such subjective angles as philosophical reasons of life, concepts of legality, psychological development, surrealistic ambitions, etc. Upon this basis, this thesis is an attempt to establish the system of education and prevention of university students' crimes by studies in such spheres as the development of humanistic spirit, legal construction of university students' affairs, education in psychic growth and internet virtues, steering reasonable demands, strengthening the education and management of sexual misconducts and crimes, establishing solid network of education and prevention, etc.
