The studies of emotional intelligence and self-regulated learning have been more concerned by psychological researchers recently. Emotional intelligence is a very important non-intelligent factor which affect middle school students' study ability, it reflects people's ability which control emotion, endure pressure of surroundings and keep the balance of mental (Bar-On, 1997) . There is important relation between emotional intelligence and self-regulated learning. Some factors of emotional intelligence have been included by self-regulated learning. Emotional intelligence has important relation with self-regulated learning method and some motive factors such as willingness, self-schema, attribution, emotional regulation and so on. The study is aimed at exploring the relation of emotional intelligence and self-regulated learning so as to supply a basis of theory which can improve self-regulated learning level by emotional intelligence. Based on the large consultant of literature, this dissertation overviews the theories's generation and the development of assessment technology on emotional intelligence and self-regulated learning, gives the definitions of two concepts and introduces the study results of China and foreign countries. This research surveyed 460 junior and senior middle school students on emotional intelligence and self-regulated learning level. It explores the dimensions of emotional intelligence, the relation of emotional intelligence's factors and self-regulated learning's four dimensions along with the influence of emotional intelligence and gender on self-regulated learning, there are three conclusions as follows:1. The self-regulated learning levels of higher emotional intelligences' middle school students are higher than the self-regulated learning levels of moderate and lower emotional intelligences' middle school students. However, there are no significant differences of the self-regulated learning levels between moderate emotional intelligences' students and lower emotional intelligences' students.2. Emotional intelligence level can predict well self-regulated learning levels. The effects of prediction of emotional feeling and emotional improvement are the best. The second place is emotional regulation. Emotional comprehension can't predict anyone of the dimensions of self-regulated learning.3. There are no interaction of emotional intelligence and gender on self-regulated learning. There are no gender differences on middle school students' emotional intelligence levels, there are no gender differences on middle school students' self-regulated learning levels, either.
