Rural Junior High School Students Drop Out Of School Analysis And Countermeasures

The problem of dropping out in countries' junior school has become the important factor to feaze basic education and to carry out full diathesis education in this period. According to one table on investigation to six towns in Hunan province in the summer of 2003, the rate of poverty students' dropping out is per 30.4 in country, including per 39.7 in elementary school and per 20.0 in junior school. According to another report, there are almost 700 thousand pupils dropping out of school in the stage of junior school in 2003. It is counted that 749807 pupils and 1839163 junior students dropped from school in 2000. The result of dropping out is serious and extensive. Firstly, it results the vast waste of education resource. Secondly, it arises a series of social problems, such as employment pressure,unemployment and juvenile delinquency, also it gives an obstacle to gain ground compulsory education and baffle the progress of the 9th popularization, and even it has a direct effect to the development of society and economy in rural areas. It has been a stumbling block to foreclose the progress of constructing fairly well of society. All these above make society knock back and teaching staff ponder over.This paper gives an orderliness analysis to reasons of junior students' dropping out in different stages in rural areas on the basic of setting forth the status of dropping out, and then puts forward several countermeasures which is use for reference to solving the junior students' dropping out in country.There are 3 parts in this paper as following:The first part sets forth the status of junior students' dropping out and the development of education in three stages in China.The second part tries to find out the reason of junior students' dropping out and give an overall and deep-seated analysis on the basic of comparision with the reasons of dropping out in different stages.The third part attempts several countermeasures which is use for reference to solving the junior students' dropping out in country on the basic of analyzing reasons.
