A Study On The Loss Of Students In Secondary Vocational Schools In Dehong Prefecture

The government attaches importance to the development of vocationaleducations, of which the focus is secondary vocational education. But thedevelopment of secondary vocational schools is restricted because the common andserious phenomenon that students are apt to drop out of school. What is the reason?What should we do to cope with the matter? Adopting quantitative and qualitativeresearch methods, this paper studies teachers, students and their parents of De Hongsecondary vocational school in order to probe into the reason why the students arenot willing to continue their studies, and eventually propose some pertinent tactics.From the current grim situation of the loss of secondary students, take De Hongsecondary vocational school as a case study, the thesis research and analysis the lossof the secondary vocational school students, with the forms of questionnaire survey,interview survey, individual cases survey analysis the characteristics of the loss ofstudents, the reasons of the loss the students, whereabouts of the loss of students andsummary the negative impact of the loss of vocational students on students’personal, family, school, social and national. And based on these causes, put forwardcoping strategies to control the loss of secondary vocational school students. Thispaper consists of five parts. The first is the introduction, in which the author definesclearly the questions to be studied and several important concepts. Meanwhile, thesignificance of the study, the study background, the study aims and methods havebeen expounded. In the second part, the author introduced De Hong secondaryvocational school to us fully, including the developing history of the school,admission and employment, profession arrangement, student management.and so on.In the third part, the current situation of De Hong Vocational secondary studentsdropping out of school is surveyed, to introduce the objective and scope ofinvestigation, the survey method and object, the course of the investigation, theanalysis of the survey results. In the forth part, to analyse the reasons of the loss ofDe Hong secondary vocational school students, including social factors, nationalitycultural factors, family factors, school factors, students factors. In the fifth part, And based on these causes, put forward coping strategies to control the loss of De Hongsecondary vocational school students, including government support, social attentionheavily; increasing education expenditure, improving the conditions for runningschools; a full range of reform, to improve the quality and level of education andteaching; establishing the idea of humanistic education, to strengthen themanagement of students.
