During the reform of science education, people gradually realized the importance of scientific inquiry in cultivating students' scientific quality .Under the guidance of constructivism psychology, scientific research on the brain ,the thesis discusses the necessity and the feasibility of cultivating the students' ability of scientific inquiry in physics instruction in middle school ,based on the reality of science education in our country. The questionnaire method and theory analysis method are used to draw an education project and a preliminary discussion on how to design the scientific inquiry activities of students.The thesis is composed of four parts. In the foreword, it introduces the social background and the practical meaning for cultivating the students' ability of scientific inquiry in physics instruction in middle school. The working in this field done by American is also discussed in the second part. In the third part, the basic theory on science education and psychology is expatiated systematically. In the fourth part, the cultivating suggestions are discussed thoroughly.Because of the limitation of the time, it is only practiced during one term. Both the process and the conclusions are discussed in the last part.
