The core of scientific accomplishment is scientific inquiry, which permeates through the whole process of science education. With appropriate activity of scientific inquiry, we can inspire the students and improve their scientific accomplishment.This thesis is composed of five parts. In the first part, we have defined the activity of scientific inquiry, designed the contents and processes of it, and discussed the basic theory of it, including the pedagogy and psychology. In the second part, we have introduced the scientific inquiry in the standards of science education of the Great Britain and U.S.A, and we gained some learning from them. In the third part, we have listed the misunderstandings of the activities of scientific inquiry in China, and given some suggestions to the science teachers and researchers. In the fourth part, we have given four typical examples of the activity of scientific inquiry in China, and done some analysis on them. In the fifth part, we have discussed the evaluation of scientific inquiry activity, including the basic conception, the designing of the target, and given five principles of the evaluation on the activity of scientific inquiry.We hope that this essay can do some help to the science teachers and the researchers.
