Hunan Higher Vocational Education In The Process Of Popularization Of Higher Education Development Strategy Study

In recent years, with the popularization of advanced education, higher vocational education in Hunan province has developed fastly. In 2003, there were 50 higher vocational colleges, including 8 of them in preparation for setting up with an enrollment of 108,000 students. These colleges nearly shouldered 60% responsibility of stuff enlargement, for they had a staff of 235,000 students in all, and about 3,406 each. With its development, Advanced vocational system of Hunan province has also been realized with some inadequacies, for instance, how to develop it according to the characteristics of economic development of Hunan? What obstacles now it faces? And how to solve these problems? The author presents a detailed analysis.Firstly, the author marks a demarcation of some foundamental concepts, and makes a brief introduction of the background information to some correlated theories. This will provide theoretical support to this paper.Secondly, the author introduces the development of the advanced vocational training programs in some western countries, and hopes this may give us some beneficial experience.Thirdly, from the analysis of the present situation of Hunan economic, development and its future objective, the author predicts therequired development for today' advanced vocational training program.Fourthly, the author examines the general situation of Hunan advanced vocational training, and realizes it falls short of the expected standard, and also analyses the obstacles which prevent it from developing.Finally, the author puts forward proposals for educators discussing, for example, tightening the macro-control of the program, strengthening the guidance, renewing the ideas, reforming the discipline system, shortening the length of schooling.
