With the more standard and more scientific school management at present, schoolmasters increasingly pay great attention to the improvement of personal quality and capability. However, in the actual performance of the school management, there is few research on decision-making process, let alone the study of the experimental evidence. Armed with the combination of qualitative and quantitative study , the thesis aims at analyzing the schoolmaster's decision-mad ing process and exploring thd present situation of decision-making in our school. In respect of the quantitative analysis, some relevant conclusions can be drawn from the decision-making process adopted by the schoolmaster as well as the data statistics and analysis of the questionnaires. Specifically speaking, the difference in sex, age, and official rank can't play a decisive role in the schoolmaster's decision-making process, while due to the difference in the education degree and the quality of schools, the schoolmaster's decision-making process is easily influenced by the personal factors. Considering the variety in length of teaching, the richer the experience is, the more perfect the schoolmater's decision-making process tends to be.The qualitative analysis section, according to the questionnaires and the interviews to the schoolmasters and teachers from the schools located in one District in Shanghai, states the present situation of schoolmaster's decision-making process, and describes the difference in schoolmater's decision-making process of various types. The thesis points out the major problems emerging in the present schoolmaster's decision-making process, such as the vagueness in the decision-making power, in the process and in the. system. Then the approaches to solve these problems are put forward: to strengthen the training in decision-making theory on management, to improve the check system and to reinforce the ratification and supervision procedures in decision-making process.
