The number of old men is larger and larger in China from thiscentury. Lifelong intergraded education demands that everybody shouldbe taught in any time for all life. Senior education has great roles not onlyon lifelong intergraded education but also on old men, for examplekeeping them healthy, richening their life. Senior education had beendeveloped very fast since the first university for senior citizen wasestablished in eighty 20th century. In fact senior education in China hasmade a great progress. But there are still a lot of problems we shouldsolve in the future. This article is based on the investigation of senioreducation in city community in Youanmen. Through this way we can findout the problems about city community senior education and find outsome measures to hasten its development.The article is composed of three parts. Introducing the reason, signification, purposes and theories about the article at the beginning. In the first part it introduces the social backgrounds of developing senior education in China and the main modes in our country and in the world. Senior education is based on the demands of the era and the old.In the second part investigating the actuality of senior education in Youanmen in Peking and divided result into two parts. One is about the natural conditions of the old, for example, age, health, earning etc, the other is about viewpoints on education of the old, such as the importanceof education, the desire to take part in it, and so on.In the third part finding out the problems according to investigating. There ere three problems in the article. Firstly, supervising system does not run well. Secondly, lacking guaranteeing system. Thirdly, it does not develop well, for example, few old men taking part in it, educational contents are indigent, and so on.In the last part putting forward some advice about developing senior education. Firstly, changing the dated attitude. Secondly, strengthening educational legislation. Thirdly, recombining the educational resources, sharing them together. Fourthly, promoting education all kinds of development. Fifthly, establishing a kind of senior education which is combined with "fostering, curing, doing, studying and enjoying".
