| The technical secondary schools are the main part of the secondary professional education of our country. With the gradual construction and improvement of the marketing economic system, the economical structure and technical base of the whole society has changed thoroughly. The technical secondary schools, which came from the planning economic system, have to make changes to meet the need of the new situation with their educational philosophy, training purpose, curriculum system, teaching content and teaching methods to be reformed positively. It is a positive practice for the education of the technical secondary schools to make a conclusion and make use of the experience of the teaching reform in our technical secondary schools so as to find a better curriculum mode aiming at the achievement of the training purpose of technical secondary schools.This research is on the base of experiments. Compared with the traditional three-stage mode, this research intends to improve the students' ability of meeting the need of practice and further study. The designed result of the experiment is to find it reasonable to support a four-year teaching period including two stages. The first three years is the first stage and the last year is the second. For the first stage, with the help of adjusting curriculum setting, castigating teaching outlines and using suitable modern teaching technology, it is expected to finish the regular teaching task of four years in a three-year period. As for the second stage, in order to improve the students' knowledge structure and ability structure, measures should be taken to improve their professional practical ability. The method for achieving that purpose is to give the students intensified training for practical skills and technologydeveloping in the fields of typical production, equipments and craftwork task in the enterprises. With the training on the base of the "three and one" mode, the students will be able to have very thorough and proficient professional skills, which are supported with professional theories and the best knowledge structure supplying lifelong professional help. These skills are the must for the technique personnel, the managing personnel and the craftwork personnel working in the workshops.The experiment has adopted the strategy of "controlled group post-test designing". It is in September 1997 that the experiment started and till June 2002 two rounds of experiments had been completed.With the designed operation of the training purpose, teaching plans, teaching content, teaching methods and other variables in the experiment, we have tested and analyzed, the theoretical knowledge, the practical ability and working ability at scene of the experimental class and the controlled class respectfully. The results show that:1. There is no difference between the two classes in mastering the common subjects, professional fundamental subjects and theoretical knowledge(P>0.05),but the students in the experimental class do much better than their counterparts in mastering the proffe sional basic theory knowledge(p<0.05).2. It is clear that the students in the experimental class do better than their counterparts in operating practically with better intelligence structure(P<0.05).3. The students in the experimental class have better working ability and technology innovating ability than their counterparts (P<0.05) .This experiment is based on the education of the technical secondary schools andsupported by the theory of Constructive Study. With the help of the curriculum theory of the modern professional technology education, this research has observed the training purpose of the technical secondary schools and adjusted the teaching contents with the help of modem teaching technology. The designed result of the experiment is finally proved to be reasonable and shows that the "three plus one" mode is typical one with the characteristic of professional education as a reasonable and efficient curriculum mode of the technical secondary schools.
