Today curriculum integration has become a common trend of basic education reform in many countries. Some countries and areas like England, the United States, Hongkong and Taiwan of China have accumulated an abundance of experiences in this area. In the Chinese mainland, more and more educational researchers and school educators have shown their interests in curriculum integration. And some of the problems emerged in this area will be discussed in this thesis.The thesis contains three main parts:First, by documentation and field-investigation, we find that most of the researches conducted have been focusing on integrated curriculum, not curriculum integration. There remains much confusion between the phrase curriculum integration and integrated curriculum.Second, school-based curriculum integration is brought forward as one of the most effective ways to solve the problems in the practices of curriculum integration. Based on a typical definition of school-based curriculum development, the thesis gives its stipulated definition of school-based curriculum integration.Third, The implementation of school-based curriculum integration is discussed. The thesis strategically concludes that teacher integration is the key to implement School-based curriculum integration, and team teaching is an important way of teacher integrating.Still, case analysis is given in the ending part of the thesis.
