For a long time, "speciality" is always the aim of educational workers , which they expect and work hard for. The professionalization of school administrator began from the middle-late period of the nineteenth century. As Industrial Revolution and the expansion of cities gone on, schools met with more and more management problems. People then realized that school administrator should have special expertises. In our country, people also come to concern the importance of school management.This thesis, firstly, researches the legitimacy of the professionalization of school administrator from the perspectives of logical positivism, phenomenology and critical theory. It' s a job of conception clearness. Secondly, with the translation of knowledge base, Author surveys the development history of the professionalization of school administrator. It has been divided into three knowledge-base ages: "philosophy science" , "empiricism science" and "polycentrism science" . Besides knowledge base, Author also probes into the training curricula and role orientation in each age. Last the article reflects the process of the professionalization of school administrator in China, and tries to establish a new period.
