One of the bases of education is cognitive level of the students, and one of the purposes of education is to promote continuous improvement of the students' cognitive level. So it's a critical problem to know clearly and efficiently about the students' cognitive level as to make the instructional plan more scientific and the teaching measures more pointed. In this essay, under guidance of the theory of Jane Piaget and , combined with the domestic reality of physics education, a scientific method is expounded to measure the physics cognitive level of the senior high school students. Furthermore, we also take a measure on high school students in grade two, meanwhile give some correspondent instruction suggestion.The thesis consists of four parts, in the preface of which, the contemporary background and the research significance are introduced in brief, then we bring forward some new views on the connation of teaching students in accordance with their aptitude, and attempt to use the theory of Jane Piaget to make theory becoming a operating theory. At last, expose the research circumstance abroad and domestic.The second part is theory. At the beginning of this part, a definitive regulation is given on normal cognitive level and physics cognitive level. And then, starting from Max's views that human beings should develop themselves all-round, we enunciate the important effect on the comprehensive development through studying on the cognitive level to improve the growth of personality. Secondly, Jane Piaget's stages theory of cognitive development in children and its significance are introduced. At last, we also refer to 's theory about instruction and development. All these theories provide a scientific foundation to the practical study and teaching plan in the later part.In the third part, we take some practical study on the physics cognitive level of high senior students, from which, the compiling principle of examination questions is pointed out. We also use it to measure the cognitive level of high school student in grade two. Besides, fuzzy mathematics methods is attempted to handle the cognitive test data and then to determine the cognitive level of the students. Moreover, we pay visit to the physics teacher of the interviewed class. Investigation shows that it is of much similarity between china and other countries on the physics cognitive level of high school students in grade two. At the same"time, we also find out that it has comparatively much deviation between the teacher's empirical appraisals on the students' cognitive level. So we should take more scientific measure to the cognitive level of the students, and take it as a basic to teach students in accordance with their aptitude.Conclusions are given in the last part. First, an analysis result is summarized on the practical cognitive level study of the high senior school students, which testify that it is very necessary and also feasible to measure the students' cognitive level. Moreover, according to the former study, we also bring forth seven instructional suggestions theoretically on how to make scientific measurement on the students' cognitive level in the process of physics study. So that, we provide a point of reference to the physics teacher that how to conduct their instruction on the basic of the awareness of the students' cognitive level and with a eye on promoting their cognitive level to advance on the latest one.
