This thesis made a study of the difficult situation of the system of high level sports teams in colleges and universities, and the feasibility of its transformation into athletic club system through literature and data consultation and logical analysis.The system of high level sports teams in colleges and universities is facing many difficulties, such as the rigidity of administration system, their seeking short-team successes and instant profits when recruiting student, the low professional level of coaches, and so on and so forth, which to a large extent have restricted and led to the lack of excellent athletes of world level truly cultivated by high college and universities.To meet the requirement of sports strategic guidelines of our country and also to the developmental trend of the world athletic sports, athletic sports and higher education in China are sure to combine with each other.According to the development of China's sports tactical disposition, it will be necessary to further expedite the reform of sports system, pursue association system and club system, and to practise socialization and industrialization, with state and society joining efforts to initiate sports enterprises.More and more investment on sports education in colleges and universities from the society has created favorable conditions for the establishment of athletic clubs in colleges and universities. More and more entrepreneurs have begun to seek cooperation with colleges and universities, which have laid a solid material foundation for the establishment of athletic clubs.Now colleges and universities have themselves possessed many necessary conditions for establishing clubs. For instance, many colleges and universities have stadium and gymnasiums qualified for international games . Besides, they have rich inside information of sports culture, outstanding sports tradition, and also strong impact. Several colleges and universities have set up athletic club and have so far made delectable achievements.This thesis considered it is feasible to develop sports education in colleges and universities in China in the form of athletic clubs. Reformed athletic sports clubs in colleges and universities will make more contributions to the reform of China's sports education system.
