CAl in senior chemistry has been in use in middle schools for 10 years, whose theory and the developmental skills of software have been fairly well improved, but in the practical reality of senior chemistry instruction, few teachers have their instructions with CAl. The author of this paper has analyzed the problems of CAl in senior chemistry theoretically and practically, and believes that the main factor is that the front faculties have a serious misunderstand to CAL, and don know clearly why and how CAL can be used in senior chemistry, so that CAl in senior chemistry is trapped in the mud-pit in which only big and comprehensive courseware is pursued, and it is in this case that the space where CAL can be used has been badly reduced or limited. Thus, this paper puts forward that the key to solve the problems of CAl in senior chemistry is to renew the concept, step out the stereotyped thinking, establish the idea of integrableware, and focus CAl on the design of our instructive program, so that, in this way, CAL can truly become the means to produce the environment, create the atmosphere, provide students with the opportunity to cooperate and associate with each other for chemistry study. In fact, computers can assist chemistry instruction in middle schools very well, but it is not always the case that CAL can get satisfactory fruit in any case. The authortakes a further exploitation on how CAI can be used reasonably in chemistryinstruction, and how the advantages of computerized multimedia and thecharacteristics of chemistry subject in middle schools can be connected together,From the process of students' studying, teachers' teaching, class preparation, classinstruction, practice drills, test and evaluation, and etc., the ranges and the ways ofusing CAI have been analyzed.
