| The guiding principle of education plays an important role in One State's education system. Its reform has a deep influence to the reform of education and the development of the society. Therefore, there have been many research works in this field, but most of them laid stress on the literal interpretation of the principle. What's more, the period of their research was mainly around he Cultural Revolution which led to such works being lack of a more comprehensive and deeper analyzing and conclusion on the history background.. causes., process and results of the guiding principles of education. To make up for the study of the field, I am trying to divide the reform of guiding principle of education in 1980's into 4 parts, starting with how the guiding principle reflect the value judgement of education, centring on the reform of the guiding principle of education, as well as the logical relationship of the changes of guiding thoughts of education, and dealing with events in chronological sequence: (DThe period of introspection on the guiding principle of education; he period of correction on the guiding principle of education; he period of much discussion on the guiding principle of education; ()The establishment of the guiding principle in new time. The other limitation lied in the fault of correcting the politicizing deviation through emphasizing the economical function of education, which led to the softening and ignoring some crucial function in 1980's, such as the reasonable requires of politics, the transmission and creation of culture, the individual's development. To completely amend the deviation, which showed in the theory and practice of the guiding principle, we should always integrate and coordinate the social function and function of the individual's development, in spite of time and place.
