| The personality development and education of the only child is a very serious problem in China today. This article raises questions out of the reality of the growth and education of today's only child by means of sampling investigation. More than 3000 children from 16 schools in Shenzhen, including the pupils of Grade Five and Six in primary schools and the junior students (the only child) in middle schools, are investigated in order to know the personal favorite hobbies, self-acceptance and learning motives, etc. The article analyses the factors that influence the formation of the personality of the only child and draws some valuable conclusions based on the above investigation and makes some suggestions on the education of the healthy personality of the only child. |
