Jiping Liu, a famous people’s revolutionary educator of China, who was one of the best students of the famous educator Xingzhi Tao was also an outstanding mommunist and a typical Chinese modern intellectual whose faith shifted from democracy to communism gradually. Liu devoted all his life to help China break away from old feudal society. He had witnessed the enormous changes of China over the eighty years in modern times. In this thesis, the educational thoughts and experiences of Liu were analyzed and summarized macroscopically in historical perspective to inherit his educational spirits and thoughts.This thesis is composed of four parts outlined as follows:The first part clarified the background of Liu’s educational opinions according to his growth circumstance. The second part explained why Liu were capable to put forward useful educational thoughts corresponding actual social situation. His thoughts included Life Educational Thoughts, Wartime Educational Thoughts and Social Modernization Educational Thoughts. The third part reviewed the educational practice under guidance of Liu’s educational thoughts chronologically. The last part revealed the influence of Liu’s educational thoughts and experiences on nowadays educational revolution. What should we do was handling well the relationship between personal development and historical background refer to the relationship between Liu’s life and China’s revolution and construction. This thesis adheres to the theoretical guidance of historical materialism, this thesis is combined with dialectical materialism, strive to objectively and truly reflect the berg Liu education thought and practice.In this thesis, Liu’s education thoughts and practices were tried to be outlined objectively and truthfully guided by the historical materialism, combining with the dialectical materialism. We gathered information by on-the-spot investigation mainly, while relying on libraries, archives and networks, etc.During the study, the following methods were used:(1) Literature research. In order to understand the education ideas and practices of Liu, we collected, identified and sorted the literatures on Liu and his related activities, analyzed and synthesized the literatures combined with the background.(2) Induction. By sorting out historical data, we analyzed and concluded the main educational thoughts and practice of Liu.(3) Comparison. Comparing to the education thoughts of Tao, we analyzed the inheritance and development from Tao of Liu’education thoughts.
