The rapid development of modern society has made a lot of scholars and teachers begin to rethink the purpose of English teaching. They realize that developing students’ language skills is very important for students’ long-term development in the future. Teachers should focus on the use of language as a whole language system for the purpose of completing a series of communication rather than just teach language forms such as grammar, sentence patterns, and vocabulary. In order to achieve this goal, a large number of new English teaching outline for middle school students was formally promulgated in 2001. These new teaching standards emphasize the improvement of classroom interaction and students’ learning initiative. Specifically, teachers’ main task is to assist students in learning, broaden students’ horizon, strengthen and consolidate students’ basic skills such as oral and writing and help students develop independent learning ability and lay a good foundation for their future study. In the classroom, how the teacher influences the students, how the students influence the teacher, how the students respond to the teachers and how the teachers explain to the students, all of these are the questions of classroom interaction between teachers and students. The teaching process emphasizes the dynamic information exchange between teachers and students, students and students, so as to realize the interaction, communication, influence, and complementation between teachers and students. Teachers’ emotional and behavioral response to students will have different effect on students, and this effect is subtle but it will last for a long time. The author analyzed the influence of the interaction between teachers and students, and tried to arouse teachers’ humanistic care for each student. This paper attempts to solve the following problems based on observing two classes in an experimental school.1. What types of classroom interaction in English classroom in middle schools?2. What are the factors that influence the students’ active participation in classroom interaction?3. What kind of questions can raise students’ enthusiasm to participate in classroom interaction? The research shows that teachers’ discourse is much more than students’ discourse. It affects the effect of language output and pragmatic competence development. It is not conducive for students to construct their own knowledge. The form of classroom interaction is single. Students’ enthusiasm to participate in classroom interaction is not high, teachers didn’t organize group activities in the classroom, and classroom interaction between teacher and student is mainly initiated by teachers. Most teachers in the classroom ask display questions, it is not conducive to the development of students’ thinking. Teachers could give students timely feedback, noted the students emotional development, but the error correction need to be improved.According to the above findings, the author summed up the following teaching enlightenment: First, teachers should create interactive situation and mobilize the enthusiasm of the students. Secondly, teachers should enrich the form of classroom interaction and guide students to study by themselves and then encourage students to participate in classroom interaction on the basis of self-study. Third, display questions and reference questions should be used interchangeably, so it can cause students’ learning interest. Finally, teachers should give positive feedback words to the students appropriately and then achieve the communication with the students’ emotion.
