A Study On The Qualification Of Teachers In Shanghai Universities

Spreading knowledge, cultivating talents, scientific research and serving society are four main functions of modern university. In recent years, talent training and scientific research has increasingly becoming the most important function of universities. Undoubtedly, university teacher is a solid strength of personnel training and scientific research. Therefore the level of teachers is the key to the quality education. University teachers’ qualification is the first threshold of applicants to join university, as well as the guarantee for the teaching quality in colleges and universities. This paper studied on the measures and process for the implementation of teachers’ qualification in colleges and universities in Shanghai on the empirical perspective, and then analyzed the present situation of teachers’ qualification in colleges and universities in Shanghai. This paper respectively did interviews and questionnaire survey to the managers, college teachers qualified applicants, as well as researchers. This paper aims to provide multiple views to re-examine the Shanghai regulations governing the qualification of teachers colleges and universities.Through analyzing of the data, the empirical and qualitative understood the problems existing in the teachers’ qualification in colleges and universities in Shanghai. We found that the conditions do not match the needs of colleges and universities. Free examination is not reasonable. The current university teachers’ qualification is not consistent with the concept of lifelong development. The reason is that the national standard is the basic standard, teachers’ qualification in colleges and universities in Shanghai is after the recruitment of teachers. At this stage the teachers’ qualification in Shanghai universities has no sustainable protection. Full classification identified in Shanghai college teacher qualification is recommended. Firstly obtain a certificate of Shanghai universities for newly appointed teacher qualifications, and then participate in university teacher recruitment. Through training, regular registration and qualification of teachers in colleges and universities to establish a strong relationship, in order to ensure the connotation of Shanghai university teachers qualified. Therefor the Shanghai higher education quality is guaranteed, and the university personnel training, scientific research function is played better.
