At present, the world has rapidly entered into a new age featured the global integration of knowledge and economy. The ever-changing and continuous advancement of the technology is certainly to be the guide for the age of the knowledge and economy, and must be supported by the power of talents. The talent training relies on the education in school and the hard work of the teachers. Undoubtedly, teachers in China are all under the historic responsibility of spreading knowledge and cultivating talents, as well as the urgent mission of national rejuvenation. Teachers in secondary schools, in particular, who are under the pressure of compulsory education, have a long way to accomplish their goals. Therefore, in terms of the domestic teachers, especially the secondary school teacher responsible for the compulsory education, or basic education, the scientific, reasonable and effective performance management for them will be beneficial to the development of China’s education, the advancement of technology, and the early achievement of nation rejuvenation.In order to improve the work performance of secondary school teachers in the stage of basic education (or the compulsory education), numbers of school leaders and mangers of school affairs in China have introduced the "performance management". After a general survey of the implementation of performance management for secondary school teachers in China, however, there exists a fact that the around 70% of performance management for teachers conducted by the school leaders and the managers of school affairs failed to produce a marked result. The Nan’an NO.1 middle school, Fujian province, a school built in 1939 with 80-year history, is in one of school failing to meet its goal.The author is now one of the school leaders in Nan’an NO.1 middle school. By reading a large amount of documents and a thorough analysis and study, the author decides to take "the data analysis and the design of performance management of secondary school teachers" as his research project for the dissertation. The reasons for his choice lie in that some problems in such fields as the salary structure, the incentive system, as well as the way, the feedback and the management of the performance appraisal, in Nan’an NO.1 middle school, remain for a prompt solution, and that the school leaders and manager of school affairs need an vigorous exploration for an optimized and scientific way for performance management.This thesis introduces the background of the study of performance management system for teachers, the significance of the project and the status quo of the study and of the application the system, thus clarifying its task and content. In the part of system analyzing, the thesis analyzes the existing problems, the organization, and the original procedure of operation in detailed and finally gives an optimized way for the operation. In the function analyzing, the thesis, by means of case study, clarifies the function of the system and presents a package diagram for the general function and for the sub-function which includes the management of the performance indicator, of the performance report, and of the performance result. In the data analyzing, the thesis thoroughly analyzes the data every parts of the system need to deal with, thus produces a relation diagram of the entity and builds a list structure for database. In the conclusion part, the thesis draws a conclusion for the study and the analysis.
