National Southwest Associate University was made up of Tsinghua University, Peking University and Nankai University which are China’s top universities at that time. So that it became a famous comprehensive university and it is a milestone in the history of Chinese modern educational history. This university had many great masters and lots of brilliant academic scientific research achievements.This article summarized the operating conditions of National Southwest Associate University which is as the premise of the study of teachers and students’ livelihood. The author made the whole research into the social and economic history category, and based on the economic background of southwest area to discuss the changes of the Kunming’s economic and development states. So that we can further explore teachers and students’ livelihood changes in National Southwest Associate University.According to the collected economic statistics, history books, memories articles and books that had already collected the author tried his best to reshow the real situations of the students and teachers’ living conditions at that time and the solutions to solve the problems of living.
