Investigation And Research On The Southwest Frontier Of Southwest Associated University

The National Southwest United University was a special university thatestablished in the Anti Japanese War until the end of the war, it was an AssociatedUniversity combined with Peking University, Tsinghua University and NankaiUniversity. In1937, those universities moved to Changsha of Hunan, then mergedinto the Temporary University in Changsha, the next year those universities moved toKunming of Yunnan, and rename the National Southwest United University. In theextremely difficult conditions the university lasted about nine years. After the AntiJapanese War, in1946, three universities backed to the Beijing and Tianjin. TheNational Southwest United University not only cultivated a group of excellent talentsbut also obtained great academic achievements. The National Southwest UnitedUniversity is played a very important role in Higher Education in China even all overthe world, and it leaving a valuable spiritual wealth.During the period of Anti Japanese War, the southwest became a rear area, thepeople of immigrations universities and research institutions of science, they areremembered the historical mission all the time and pitched into the scientific research.At the shortage of funds and extremely difficult conditions, the organizations andgroups constituted by teachers and students whose comes form the NationalSouthwest United University, they made great contributions to the borderland ofsouthwest in minority languages, ethnic customs, social economy, population,Mineral resources, geography, meteorology and other aspects. They made an in-depthstudy by the basis of investigation, it was not only left a precious survey data, but alsopromoted the development of community economy and the southwest ethnic culture,thus offered help to the Anti Japanese war.This article use the method of literature research, and base on the HistoricalArchives of Southwest United University, then collect relevant literatures, makedetailed analysis and summaries. This article explained the situation of investigationabout the borderland of southwest which achieved by the National Southwest United University, and it has significance and enlightenment to the borderland of southwest.
