Big concern has been aroused by the hot sell of enlightened mandarin book.Then,the criticism of the current PEP primary language textbooks came. Throughout the criticism and questioning of the sound, and the comparison between enlightened mandarin book and PEP primary language textbooks reveal that there is reduction of "children centered".The concept of "children centered comes from Locke’s educational standard opinion firstly. As Rousseau, Dewey and other human’ development, after Zhou Zuoren, Lu Xun’s spread and promotion in the Chinese mainland, it has been more and more people to accept, "children centered"is taking the children as the center in the whole education procession. All the factors need to consider one corn,which is just children.All things is all good for the children.2001 of the new curriculum, again set the guiding status of child-centered. Core of the new curriculum is to respect the child, child care, understanding of children, child-centered education is no longer a minority slogan, but as an educational core set down. Child-centered, meaning that children can not be seen as no independent capability which is lower energy than adults.Instead, the adult needs a new vision and thinking to look at the individual child, respect for the child from the true sense, respecting their thinking, imagination, creativity, as well as any difference from the adult.They do not want to arbitrarily shaped mold for adults, but have their own natures and endowments. The only thing adults can do it is to provide them with the perfect conditions for survival and growth, respecting them, loving and caring for them.Child-centered contemplation on education is reflected in respecting for the individual child, the care of child’s perspective, the protection for freedom of children. Child-centered is inseparable from schools to improve our education and our child’s textbooks are most direct and effective educational media to reflect the idea of child-centered.This article is aimed at researching the PEP primary language textbooks (from first grade to second grade),then discussing the reduction of child-centered in some texts.Bringing about the relevant introspection of PEP primary language textbooks selections.
