| Wu Yanyin is a pioneer in the modern reform on the subject of Chinese in primary education, a famous patriotic educator and poet. He has devoted himself to Chinese primary education for about 50 years, and made great contributions to the primary education, especially to the reform and improvement of the subject of Chinese in primary schools.This paper aims to research completely in Wu's educational thoughts on the subject of Chinese in primary schools, and draw a full picture of him who has a very important impact on the development of modern Chinese education.This paper consists of six parts.The first chapter introduces the educational practices of Wu from the dimension of the educationalist and history, and outlines the background and the process of the formation of his educational ideology.Chapter II analyses Wu's contributions to the writing, introducing and standardizing of the vernacular textbooks on Chinese in primary schools from the level of languages of textbooks and subjects, taking the three sets of textbooks on Chinese in primary education written by Wu as the cases from the comparative view.Chapter III expounds the thought of making textbooks of Chinese literature put forward by Wu from the content of subjects and teaching level, research in the theoretical basis, resource and forms of the ideology, and makes comparison between the textbooks and the "literary" cases.Chapter IV is mainly about Wu's writing thought about the teaching materials of Chinese in primary schools and the textbooks for children, and makes the conclusion that the character of his writing thought is child-centered and scientific from the view of writers, contents and the writing forms.Chapter V introduces Wu's teaching theory of Chinese in primary schools in detail. Based on the books written by Wu and taking the four tasks of writing, speaking, reading and writing as the analyzing clues, the chapter expounds his thoughts on the aims, principle, contents and methods of Chinese teaching in primary schools.The last part is about the author's thoughts on how to deal with foreign culture for the subject of Chinese in primary education in the recent educational reform, on the basis of concluding Wu's contributions and connecting to the recent education values of child-centered. |
