The Possibility And Education Of School Education In The Context Of Consumer Culture

In contemporary society, consumption culture is an important part of social culture, it is the sum of the value orientation and cultural characteristics that people concentrated express in consumption activities. With its unique cultural logic and value objective, consumption culture permeated in the modern society gradually. Meanwhile, consumption culture effected like a dual and invisible hand to school education, which created both positive and negative affections. All these influences make a quite guidance and changes to school education life, that we need to think deeply of consumption culture and school education as soon as we can.This paper makes a reflection study of the effect and countermeasure research of school education in consumption culture background. The author stared with analyzing the situation and connotation of contemporary consumption culture form, then the author carried on the interaction structure relations between consumption culture and school education. After the comparative study on the related literature at home and abroad, the author discovered the innovation point of this study, that is the positive value of consumption culture connotation, and thus the author try to explore some opportunities to make a further development of school education. These opportunities mainly demonstrated in five aspects,firstly, the people-oriented value of fullness and happiness which guide to a further depth of the purpose of school education; secondly, the growing educational needs of culture and consumption which stimulated the individualization of school education; thirdly, the lifelization which with consumption culture and consumption education as the supplementary content of school education; fourthly, the medium which with multimedia and new medium as a platform of school teaching method;and the last,the interacted intimacy of school education subject which promoted by self-identification and group identification in individual and group consumption activities. The alienation of consumption culture, meanwhile, also can produce negative trend to school education, such as the utilitarianism of educational purpose by conspicuous consumption culture; the consumerization of educational needs by irrational consumption culture; the vulgarization of educational content by entertainment consumption culture; the erosion dependence of educational method by excessive hedonic consumption culture; and the benefiting crisis between students and teachers by the class nature connotation of consumer culture.To make an effectively respond to the opportunities and dilemma caused by consumption culture to contemporary school education, the author tentatively put forward some strategies. Firstly, we should clarify the core pursuit of consumption culture and the school education, stick to the side of the educational purposes; secondly, we should guide the rational educational needs, by ascending the purity and the content of cultural consumption of individual educational need, and promoting the consumption return of morality and culture; thirdly, the school should build a scientific and reasonable consumption curriculum, by replenishing the complement of consumption ability and consumption moral education content; fourthly, we should choose a suitable method in the education activities and try to handle well the boundaries with the consumer psychology and teaching methods, and to make a reasonable use of multimedia teaching and new media; finally, the teachers should set up a positive model of consumption by good personal example as well as verbal instruction, at the same time, the teachers should also show a positive attitude to face the new role in school education and build harmonious relations with students.
