A Study On The Employment Problem Of College Students In Social Work

With the development of the market economy and the carrying out of the strategy of rejuvenating the country through science and education, colleges and universities deepen the reform and enlarge their students to adjust themselves to the social situation. However, since 1999, what accompanies is the increasingly serious problem of employment of undergraduates, who face keen competition and a great pressure. Undergraduates are becoming more and more to get ready for China’s economy construction. The employment of undergraduates influences not only the stable development of our society, but also their own physical and mental health. The author analyzes and summarizes the reasons of current problems followed the examples of Jinzhong Normal University by the ways of document analysis and questionnaire survey. The paper points out that the problem of employment is not caused by single factor but influenced by four aspects of undergraduates themselves, universities, society and the government functions. On this basis, it also puts forward the countermeasures and suggestions to solve the problem of undergraduates’ employment through professional social work theory and methods for theoretical analysis and practical research.This paper elaborates the problem of undergraduates’ employment on the following four aspects.For the first part, this paper introduces the research method of social work on the perspective of the research purpose and significance of undergraduates’ employment situation. Meanwhile, it carries on the literature review on how social work solves the employment problem and defines the relevant concepts.For the second part, combined with the author’s practice experience, this paper summarizes the current situation of employment for undergraduates and analyzes the causes of the problem under the example of Jinzhong Normal University and the questionnaire survey.For the third part, after analyzing the progressive feasibility of intervention of social work on undergraduates’ employment problem, this paper points out that there are many disadvantages in the traditional work method, which has been difficult to adapt to the complex problem of undergraduates’ employment. It also expounds the advantages of social work on solving the undergraduates’ employment problem from the four perspectives of theory, values, professional technique and the function.For the fourth part, on the basis of above discussion, this paper puts forward the countermeasures and suggestions to solve the problem of undergraduates’ employment from four aspects of the undergraduates themselves, universities, society and the government. It also holds the view that to solve undergraduates’ employment problem, the working methods such as prevention, treatment, development must be combined to promote it.For the fifth part, which is also the conclusion, this paper summarizes the whole part and points out its own disadvantages for further investigation in the future.
