The release of the New Curriculum Standard has raised a higher requirement of the basic education in China. Some front-line teachers have already carried out some concrete researches in the exploratory teaching of mathematics. But how to carry out the exploratory teaching is still a topic worth discussion in the integrated practice activities of middle school mathematics course. The author has adopted the exploratory teaching methods in the integrated mathematical practice activities on the school courses, gained some valuable experiences and carefully summarized the learning. This paper aims at studying the exploratory teaching in the integrated practice activities under the research of classroom teaching and sharing the learning to the peers in the field in a broad perspective.First of all, the research gives an overall picture of the exploratory teaching and integrated practice, and investigates the actual implementation in the integrated mathematical practice activities using the questionnaire survey, together with interviews. On the basis of analyzing and sorting out relevant materials, the paper illustrates the feasibility and necessity of carrying out integrated mathematical practice activities based on the exploratory teaching method and the implementation process and steps. An empirical research has been carried out based on that. Cases selected are from the front-line teachers who carried out the exploratory integrated practice activities, followed by categorized research. To be specific, there are three levels of exploration: The characteristics of the operation experience and thinking while doing,-The characteristics of the operation experience and thinking while doing,-The scenario cognition and-The Open-ended question.The three levels are analyzed with cases and the paper has arrived at the following conclusions:1. The findings show that both teachers and students approve this course and the exploration teaching mode. Also they support applying the exploration teaching in this math course of integrated practice.2. In the integrated practices activities and the teaching of mathematics with exploratory manners, the exploratory teaching improves the students’ participation, enhances the students’proactive learning abilities and learning passion.3. In the process of implementing the exploratory teaching during the integrated practice activities, the exploration forms based on the demand of exploration shall be flexibly selected by the teachers.4. The outcomes of the integrated practice indicate that the exploration teaching apply to this course and students are better engaged in the class and more interested in math. Thus the score has been enhanced.5. In the evaluation of the implementation process, we all aware its importance and further research needs to be done on how to put the evaluation in place considering how to balance the evaluation by the teacher, students and parents.
