New curriculum management system innovates at the reform using 3 level management-nation, region and school, which effectively push the development and practice of school based curriculum. In recent years teenager problems like superficial life consciousness, unclear value, disrespect of life, increase sexual deviance and etc. are imminent. Life education therefore becomes more and more important for students healthy growing, family stable and society harmony. Considering aforementioned reality, this paper will focus on the study of school based curriculum’s development and application.Based on sorting, induction and summarizing of existing literature, this paper will develop life education curriculum for 1st year middle school student through literature research, questionnaire survey, interview and interdisciplinary research, and apply to Affiliated Experimental Middle School Nanjing Normal University.The development of life education school based curriculum begins with analyzing school environment and curriculum requirement from student, teacher and school by using questionnaire and interview method, which provide support of the curriculum development; defines goal of the curriculum using literature study and questionnaire method; then finalize the contents of school based life education curriculum including life origin education, environment education, death education, health education, puberty education, life value education, enjoy life education, and also develop details of this 7 education topics.In practice, one class is taught as a group by the researcher.3 topics teaching are completed through lecturing, discussing, role playing, using audio visual materials, practice. Taking<Delicate and Colorful life> for example shows the teaching material and plan of this topic’s school based curriculum. After the teaching practice, the researcher explains and analyzes the feedback from the students after the lessons through questionnaire, those feedbacks will then improve the development of this curriculum;. Researcher also illustrates how to evaluate students learning in this curriculum.
