Mathematical operation abilityis one of the basic mathematics ability of junior middle school students, one of the major aims is the junior middle school mathematics teaching, for junior high school students mathematics learning plays a key role.On the basis of theoretical research on the mathematical operation ability of the existing home and abroad, from the junior middle school students to mathematical definition, formula, the use of law, the understanding of calculate theory and operation significance as well as the choice of easy way to three dimensions, to compile a junior high school students operation ability level test questionnaire. Based on two different levels school junior high school students mathematics ability level of research and the use of SPSS software for data analysis, the result of the test status summary analysis of the mathematical operation ability in junior high school students: Junior high school students ability to apply the rule definition formula for computing is relatively high, and simplify the computing power and understand the operation significance and manage ability is low; Junior middle school students overall increased with grade of computing power, the fastest 2 grade students operation ability level; In the three dimensions of computing power, using the definition formula of law and simplify the operation ability as the growth of the students’ grade and has more obvious improve, but students understand operation significance and mental abilities along with the growth of the grade is a certain degree of decline; Junior high school students of mathematics ability level has nothing to do with gender.And through the comparative analysis of the first, second, third year students operation ability and analysis ability level operations of different gender, put forward specific recommendations to improve the teaching of junior middle school students mathematical ability:improve the students mathematical cognitive structure, strengthen the definition, formula, the law of teaching, strengthen the operation significance and principle of teaching, strengthen the cultivation of students ability to simplify the operation.
