| With the continuous deepening of the curriculum reform, it has become the focus ofeducation to improve students’ scientific literacy and develop students’ experimental ability. Butin the actual chemistry teaching, students’ experimental ability cannot meet the correspondingrequirements. So one of the primary tasks in chemistry teaching is to understand theexperimental teaching situation, to change the current experimental teaching and to improve thestudents’ experimental ability.Based on the chemistry curriculum standards, the paper analyzes the chemical experimentaloperation skills for about two years in Weifang. It aims to make clear of thebasic experimental literacy that students should possess. Combined with the analysis of thestudents’ experimental operation results in2013, the paper aims to understand the presentsituation of junior middle school students’ experimental operation ability, and found:1.Operational capacity level of the students can generally meet the basic requirements ofcurriculum standards. Students can independently complete basic experimental curriculumstandards prescribed, and grasp the basic skills of experiment operation.2. Through the analysis of students scoring rate, we found the level of student experimentsheterogeneous operating capability exists on the specific requirements. Students’ the ability inexperimental design and to describe the experimental phenomena are relatively weak, remains tobe further strengthened.3. From the point of view of specific experimental operation, the students in the laboratorypreparation of carbon dioxide and oxygen on relevant skills master the best; solution preparationand purification of coarse salt experiments related skills master generally;nature of the metal andthe chemical nature of the acid verification experiment experimental related skills score thelowliest.Students in the basic operation, for some simple experimental equipment’ skills such astest tubes, plastic head dropper, funnel, alcohol lamp to use, master well, at excellence level;basic experimental heating of the material, the gas preparation and the collection, etc. skills canbe mastered, in the middle level; and for skills of the instrument, medicine access, evaporationoperation, pH test strips use, the use of balance, cylinder readings and plastic head dropper are inlower-middle level; skills of instrument sorting and washing and recycling of drugs are in poorlevels. So students’mastery of experimental skills exist uneven weaknesses.4. From the analysis of the characteristics of the experimental operation ability, the students’ability of operating chemical experiment accuracy and flexibility meet the requirements ingeneral, but agility and innovation has been lacking, indicating the presence of studentsexperimental operation capability characteristics imbalances.Teaching and learning are complementary, the paper also used questionnaires andinterviews of different schools inWeifang, part of junior grade students and teachers conducted a survey to understand the status of school experiment teaching, experimental approach, theexperimental resources with the situation and so on. Through the experimental data analysis toidentify existing problems in teaching, so that it can find the effective teaching strategies toimprove the ability of students in the experimental operation.According to the students’ ability to operate the experimental status quo and the problemsthat exist in education, strategy papers on junior high school chemistry experiment operationalcapabilities discussed were from different types of experimental treatment, different classimprovements, and proposed also take advantage of a variety of teaching resources andChemical laboratory.For the above strategies, the paper also by teaching practice for nearly ayear, for2013and2014to test experimental operation in the experimental class and a regularclass exam results were analyzed and found that student achievement has been significantlyimproved, the ability of experimental operation has been greatly improved. |
